How to delete blank pages from a PDF

Automatically find and remove empty pages in a PDF.

  1. Open Delete Blank Pages

    Visit makemypdf.com/delete-blank-pages.

  2. Upload the PDF

Drop the file onto the upload area.

  3. Wait for the scan

The tool checks each page for selectable text, then renders pages with no text and measures how much ink they contain.

  4. Review the candidates

Every page flagged as blank is listed. Uncheck any you want to keep — the tool is cautious but can miss edge cases.

  5. Click Remove and download

A new PDF is built with the selected blanks dropped. Original quality is preserved.

Frequently asked questions

How does the tool decide a page is blank?

Two checks: (1) does the page contain any selectable text? (2) if not, what percentage of pixels on a low-resolution render are non-white? Pages with very little ink and no text are flagged.

Will it flag pages with only a faint watermark or header?

Possibly. Light watermarks occupying a small area can read as blank. Always review the candidate list before confirming removal.

Can I remove pages that are not detected as blank?

Use the Remove Pages tool for manual selection. This tool focuses on the automatic detection use case.

Are my files uploaded?

No — detection and removal both run in your browser.
